“Finally …. A book with all the information we need for the vocational guidance of our child! All of our students’ parents are enthusiastic, realizing how useful ORIENTUM’s Studies Guide is. We, too, as a “Frontistirio” (Private Tutoring School), have in our hands a precious tool that enables us to counsel candidates in the best and most responsible way. Printing it with our logo and giving it to our students has been the best publicity – offering added value to our Frontistirio … We thank you…”
Andreas Mavromatis
Director of Education

“Before going to Orientum, I already had in mind a school which interested me, but I wanted to be sure about this choice and also to have a back-up option in case my grades weren’t good enough. With the tests, I found out not only the professions that suited me best but also several aspects of my character and personality. With my counsellor’s encouragement and guidance I got into the school I wanted, and I’m now preparing for university life with lots of dreams!! Thank you so much!”
Valentina Triandafilidou, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Thessaloniki
“I have been an ERASMUS student in Sweden since August!! I haven’t been to Greece since then, and things here are fantastic!! Sometimes I think how difficult it was for me to go to Cyprus, and then I think about all the things I’ve done since then and how much I’ve grown!! And it really has been the best thing I’ve ever done in my life up to now! A special thanks to you! I hope you are well and that you keep doing what you do with the same enthusiasm!!”
Katerina Pata, Faculty of Nursery Teachers, Cyprus
“Orientum has played the most important role in my selection of both school and city. I placed great faith in the advice you have given me, and I have to say that I’m none the worse for it. I got into a school which suited me perfectly; it was exactly what I wanted, both in terms of courses and finding a job. A great thanks to you!!”
Akis Apostolopoulos, Faculty of Economic Sciences
“I don’t know what to say… except thank you very much for your help… Before coming to Orientum, I had no idea what I wanted to study… What truly helped me the most, however, were the discussions about each profession.”
Maurice Calderon, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Patras
“The truth is that all of us, more or less, need the help of someone with more experience than ourselves. Travellers need the help of guides, sick need the help of doctors, and students need the help of teachers. But in many cases it’s not so simple, since students don’t simply need the help of their teachers but of their parents and of counsellors as well. When each of us students is faced with the eternal dilemma of which school to choose, and, as a result, which career or maybe even life, we usually have to choose among three options: Our teachers will counsel us to follow their subject or specialty; our parents will urge us towards the direction of their own profession, while our own self will encourage us to actually follow our heart. What happens, however, when we have a hard time expressing what it is that we really want – when we are so confused that all the schools look ideal to us? In such cases, if we are thinking clearly, we should turn to the only people who can scientifically and objectively help us: Career Guidance Counsellors. For they are true professionals with expert knowledge and reliable methods, and they are really the only ones who can help us express our desire, match that desire with the name of a school, city, credit points and, naturally, set a perfectly clear goal for ourselves which we can work toward and attain.
My name is Yiannis, and I am happy. Very happy, since I got into the school of my choice. I am happy because I prepared for the exams with a goal in mind, a school in which I wanted to enroll. It’s always easier to set forth knowing your destination, your goal; and this is I owe to my special Career Guidance Counsellor, Spyros Michaloulis, who made me feel I was a friend and not a client. Without your exceptional help and support, I don’t know whether I would be so happy today.”
Yiannis Arzinos, Faculty of International and European Studies, Piraeus
“I want to thank you very much, because as a result of the seminar on vocational guidance that you held in Ptolemaida, my contact with your associates by telephone, as well as studying the book, I can now confirm that Economics really suits me; only two days ago I enrolled in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Ioannina and I am very happy! Thank you again for all your help, and at some point I would like your further counsel regarding future options (post-graduate studies, etc.).”
Christina Sissiou, Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Ioannina
“I am now in Cyprus at the school I always wanted to attend and this I owe exclusively to you. You helped me support my decisions and do what I consider best for me! You were always there for me when I needed you most, full of understanding and advice. I had my doubts and was afraid to come here and face something so unknown. Thank you for teaching me to take risks; once again you proved to be right, since I’m now enjoying the best time of my life. I hope you will continue doing what you are doing and, as you stood by me, I hope you will also stand by other kids. I’m sure that many people would find your help invaluable.”
Stellina Garoufalia, Faculty of Psychology, Cyprus
“The specific programme of vocational guidance helped me eliminate many professional fields which I was considering and to focus on the two that interested me the most. It also helped me prioritise these fields and their related professions on the “Mihanografiko” (University Admissions Application Form). Most of all, you gave me direction through the test that I took and the discussion I had with the counsellor.”
Thanassis Tsaperlis, Faculty of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Volos
“Through the programme of vocational guidance I succeeded in discovering the school that truly interested me. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know the school scope before my meetings with the counsellor. My first impression following our discussions was positive; but things were even better than I expected once I got into the school. The school opens up new horizons and provides many opportunities, such as the practical training programme which takes place every summer. I would recommend my school without any reservations.”
Nikos Doganos, University of the Aegean, Faculty of Shipping, Trade and Transport (Chios)
“Now that I have enrolled in the school of my first choice and I’m not missing a single class, I realize the major importance of our meetings. Both in terms of the questions about my personality and interests as well as the comprehensive information on the schools which you provided me with, I think this was the best choice I could possibly have made. Your book “Let’s Go to… University” also helped me a great deal, since I could find everything I needed to know in great detail about the schools that interested me. So, with your help, although I was originally torn between quite a few schools, I think we found the “golden mean”!!!! Thank you for everything!”
Olga Maragou, Faculty of Management Science and Technology
“Hello, My name is Orestis, and I can tell you that I made the right choice!!! What choice? The choice of which school to attend, where I will spend the best and most important years of my life, because in that place I will gain all the resources and knowledge I need for my future. After the stress and anxiety of the Panhellenic Exams came the anxiety of filling in the “Mihanografiko” (University Admissions Application Form). I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but mainly I didn’t really know the choices I had. I liked computers, or, more accurately, I was crazy about computers! But I was also good at economics! A big dilemma: economics or computers? I was completely stuck!!! I had to get some expert advice. After a very pleasant interview and a unique test with two interesting, original young counsellors, I not only looked into myself and found the answers I was looking for – after some simple questions these people asked me, questions I had never even asked myself – but I also got all the information I needed about my choices. As it turned out, I found a school which combined economics and computers. I learned what I wanted and what I could have. Now I am a student at Athens University of Economics and completely thrilled with my department - it is nothing like senior high school; now I’m doing what I really wanted to do, and I like it a lot!!!”
